Tips on How to Get Sinus Headache ReliefThere are many options available if you are looking for sinus headache relief, which range anywhere from prescriptions and medications to herbal and home remedies. In regards to home remedies for sinus headache relief, there are many good ideas, such as dipping a towel in cold water and applying it to your forehead. Other herbs such as angelica, mint, and chrysanthemum, are also highly recommended. Prescriptions and Medications for Sinus Headache Relief If you would rather use over-the-counter medications or prescriptions to treat your sinus relief, or perhaps it is that none of the other methods were working, you do have options here as well. The primary ingredient in most medications for sinus headaches is that of aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen, or a combination of two or more of these. There are also many types of decongestants available, and in more difficult cases, nasal steroid sprays may even be recommended. However, if you find that none of these methods at all are working well enough for you, there is always the further option of visiting an ear, nose, and throat specialist, as you might have a worse problem than simply that of sinus headaches. At this exam a CT scan of the sinuses may be ordered in order to fully and properly determine the extent of blocked caused by that of chronic sinusitis. This is in fact even a good idea if some of the other methods were effective, just to make sure that you know positively what the problem is. |
